Who is MP Drafting?
MP Drafting is owned by Marcus Dreher, and has been in business since 2006. Marcus started the company from his home office after working with 2 different large commercial contract glaziers as a draftsman and project manager.
Since 2006 we have grown to a staff of over 10 people with key personnel in place to manage the drafting duties as a whole, project and scheduling manager, and quality assurance.
Our team of draftsman work on a large volume of projects each year with varying levels of complexity. We draft projects from single entrance storefront systems to large multi-story buildings with full engineering integration of different curtain wall systems and/or metal panels.

Who does MP Drafting Serve?
MP Drafting’s main customers include glass and glazing contractors and manufacturers from around the entire U.S.A. and Canada. We also service metal panel installers, as well as custom fabrication companies.
Do you offer engineering or PE (Professional Engineering) services?
We offer engineering reviews, system confirmations, full calculation packages and any other engineering help required through our network of engineering firms. This network has been developed over years of partnering with the best firms in the business building key relationships with each.
What is your turnaround or lead time?
Lead times is one of the most asked questions we receive. Several factors go into our lead time estimates including the size and complexity of the project as well as current workload. See below for our average lead times which can vary throughout the year.
Small jobs – 1-10 sheets – up to $1,250 in cost: 1 to 2 weeks
Medium size jobs – 10-40 sheets – up to $3,250 in cost: 2 to 3 weeks
Large jobs – 40 sheets plus – above $3,250 is 3 weeks up to 5 weeks +/-
How do you price your shop drawings?
MP Drafting quotes each job it receives. We do this instead of per sheet or hourly pricing because it gives a clear price up front and can be agreed upon prior to starting the job.
Do you charge for revisions?
Our quoted services include any redline revisions from the customer during the review process and typically the first round of revisions from the architect. If any systems or scope changes occur, we charge hourly to make the corrections. Field measurement revisions are also charged hourly.
Do you have experience with certain manufacturers?
MP Drafting works with all the major manufacturers of glazing and metal panels systems. Such as: Tubelite, Kawneer, YKK, EFCO, US Aluminum/CRL, Arcadia, to name a few.
How do you deliver your shop drawings?
We send a PDF copy of the shop drawings in an email directly to you. We do not offer printing services, and have found the majority of our customers print the shop drawings in house on 11 x 17, or if needed send them to a printing service for 24 x 36.
When you use MP Drafting as a service you are entitled to the DWG file version of your shop drawings if required at no additional charge.
How do you scale your shop drawings?
Our shop drawings are scaled to be printable on either 11×17 or 24×36. Because we know most drawings are printed 11×17 we scale our drawings to be easily viewed at this size.
Elevations = ¼”=1’-0” for 11 x 17 and ½” = 1’-0” for 24 x 36
Details = Half for 11 x 17 and full for 24 x 36
How do I pay for your shop drawings and what are your terms?
Typically jobs are invoiced after approval of the shop drawings by the customer. Payment terms are 30 days from date of invoice and are typically paid by company check. New customers may require credit application prior to terms being arranged.
Paypal is available upon request for a percentage fee.
